FNB EXPANDS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM TO INCLUDE LOWER BUCKS FAMILY YMCA
PRE-K EDUCATION PROGRAM
The First National
Bank and Trust Company of Newtown has added to its annual $95,000 Educational
Improvement Tax Credit Program scholarship donation with an additional $10,000
donation to the Pre-K educational program at the Lower Bucks Family YMCA.
“We have proudly provided scholarship funding to eight
area schools for the past few years and have now expanded our support to an
important pre-school program to help ensure that the next generation gets off
to a great start,” explained The First’s President and CEO, John T. Parry. “The
EITC helps to provide children and families with a choice in their education
and a chance in life.”
As in past years, the First has chosen
to utilize the services of the Buckingham Friends School to distribute the
scholarships to local schools. The scholarship program falls under
Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program which seeks to
support education by encouraging corporate donations to non-profit scholarship
or educational improvement organizations in exchange for tax credits.
