The First National Bank Announces 2012 Community Outreach Award Winners
In celebration of Community Banking Month, The First National Bank & Trust Company of Newtown recently awarded its 2012 Community Outreach Awards to three Bucks County non-profit organizations. The recipients of the $500 awards were chosen by random drawing from nominations made during the month of April. This year’s awards were presented to Gilda’s Club, Child, Home and Community, and The Counseling Center.
Charities were nominated by anyone depositing a canned good in any of the bank’s twelve branches throughout Bucks County. The collected cans were distributed to two local food banks chosen at random from the nominees. 22 cases of food were divided between Emergency Relief Association Food Pantry of Levittown, PA, and Fisherman’s Mark Food Pantry of Lambertville, NJ. Both organizations offer public food banks to serve individuals and families in need.
Located in Warminster, PA, Gilda’s Club maintains the belief that no one should have to face cancer alone. Their mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.
With headquarters in Doylestown, PA, Child, Home and Community (CHC) sponsors free childbirth classes, parenting support groups, career support and other advocacy services to pregnant and parenting teens throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties. Their goal is to ensure healthy births, enhance family stability and promote self-sufficiency.
For over thirty years, The Counseling Center, a private, non-profit mental health agency, has served the needs of the greater Bucks County area. Led by a volunteer board of directors, it has become known for its commitment to addressing the needs of the community and its dedication to the service of others.
Founded in 1864, The First National Bank is Bucks County’s oldest, most established bank, with twelve branches throughout Central and Lower Bucks County. The First is committed to local ownership, operation and investment.
