Mobile Deposit

The First National Bank gives you the convenience of depositing a check anytime from your mobile device.

Eligibility

To be eligible to use Mobile Deposit, you must:

  • be enrolled in Online Banking.  For information on signing up, click here.
  • be enrolled in Mobile Banking.  For information on enrolling, click here.
  • install the Mobile Banking app to your device.  Search the Google Play Store® or iTunes Store® for First National Bank Newtown.

Things to know before you begin

  • Endorse your check with “FNBN Mobile Deposit Only” and then sign your name.
  • You may only deposit one check at a time.
  • Checks drawn on non-US Banks cannot be deposited using Mobile Deposit.
  • Deposits can only be made to a First National Bank of Newtown checking account.
  • Funds from Mobile Deposits will not be seen in your account until after posting to your account that night.
  • All deposits made after 4:00 pm will be processed on the next business day.
  • All deposits are subject to review and approval by the bank.  Holds may be placed on individual deposits at our discretion.
  Mobile Deposit Limits*
 Daily deposit limit  5 checks for a total of $2500 maximum
 Monthly deposit limit  10 checks for a total of $5000 maximum

Making a Mobile Deposit

  1. Endorse your check with “FNBN Mobile Deposit Only” and then sign your name.
  2. Open the FNB Newtown app on your mobile device and login.
  3. Click the drop-down menu.  In the iPhone app, this is the three bars in the top left corner.  In the Android app, this is the three dots in the top right corner.
  4. Choose “Deposit.”
  5. Choose “Deposit Check”.
  6. Click -Select Account- and choose the account you want to deposit into from the list.
  7. Enter the amount of the check you are depositing.
  8. Select “Check Front.” Using your mobile device’s camera, take a photo of the front of the check in landscape format. To help ensure the check can be processed, please make sure the check is not ripped or damaged. Choose an area with good lighting to take the picture of your check. Please also ensure that all four (4) corners of the check are captured in the image.
  9. Select “Check Back.” Using your mobile device’s camera, take a photo of the back of the check in landscape format.
  10. Verify that both images have been captured and that the account and deposit amount are accurate.
  11. Select “Make Deposit” to complete your deposit.
  12. Click “Confirm” to submit your deposit.
  13. After making a Mobile Deposit, check your account the next business day to verify the deposit was made.  We recommend storing the check in a safe place for 30 days and then destroying it.
