Why do I need to accept Debit/Credit Cards for my Business?
With debit cards (funds drawn right from your checking account) and credit cards, consumers and business owners typically do not carry cash. Retailers have found that debit and credit card users spend more than a customer who pays for products or services with cash or check.
I’m worried the fees will be too much for my business to accept Debit/Credit cards.
Most businesses see an increase in sales as high as 30 percent, which typically more than covers the fees. With our variety of products, we can offer very competitive fees. Our fees are fixed at 2.5 percent + 0.20 per transaction. We do an estimated comparison for you so that you can see what your costs would be.
Why do I have to purchase equipment? It’s just too expensive.
The First offers a variety of methods to process debit and credit cards. We have online, terminal, Bluetooth and wireless solutions. We never sell you equipment and products that you do not need and work directly with you to determine the best products that would fit your business needs.
I don’t want to sign a contract.
While The First does require you to sign a three-year contract, we also offer hands-on service and work with you to fully maximize our products. If you decide you are unhappy with our products and service, you can cancel your contract at any time; however, there is a termination fee that is based on the length of the service.

Who should I call if I have a question or my equipment is not working?

For basic terminal troubleshooting:
- Always reboot
- Make sure all your cables (phone line, ethernet cable, power cord) are connected into your terminal and into the power source
- If the terminal is not printing, make sure the paper is filled and inserted the correct way.
How do I order paper for my terminal?
- If you have a standalone terminal, please call 215 –579-3400 (2 U“ x 70′ thermal)
How do I view my processing statements?
Log on to your mxmerchant.com account, On the left-hand menu, click account > merchant services > statements tab.
What is this $39.95 PCI fee on my statement?
This means that your PCI questionnaire is expired. PCI Compliance relates to how securely credit card information is being handled and processed and is required by the Card Associations (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express). Look for emails from Sysnet to complete the questionnaire. Or simply logon to your MX account, go to apps, then click on the Sysnet tile. From there it will take you to the Sysnet website to sign in.
**When the questionnaire is completed there will be no fees**
What if I don’t know my password for Sysnet?
You can click “Forgot Password” under the username/password fields or call Sysnet at phone number 888-543-4743.
